What is KLOK-01’s visual tolerance?

For any quartz or clockwork watch of any value from 20€ to 5000€, the angular play (wheel clearance) may lead to a visual shift known as “tolerance”. This is particularly visible at fixed times and may be as much as +/-2 min.

This play (or shift) is essential to the proper function of the movement and is visible on any watch. It is particularly the case for KLOK-01 due to:

  • the alignment of the Hours / Minutes discs
  • the fact that the Hours disc is bigger than the Minutes disc. This is the opposite to a watch with hands, in which the Hour hand is smaller!

Try the test on your watch with hands and see for yourself! Here is a video.

NB: To be conclusive, the test should be carried out on a graduated dial.
